REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Engineering (B Eng/ BSc Eng) or relevant engineering qualification.
- Three (3) years post-qualification technical (Engineering) experience.
- Compulsory registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license disclosure.
- Intimate knowledge of the General Conditions of Contract (GCC) and the Guidelines for Human Settlement, Planning, and Design (“Red Book”).
- Knowledge and understanding of the water sector, including relevant legislations (NWA, and NEMA) along with related policies, regulations, principles, guidelines, tools, and procedures.
- Competence in policy development, implementation, project management, and monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven liaison and networking skills, particularly in corporate governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Willingness to work abnormal hours, under pressure, and travel provincially/nationally.
DUTIES:
- Execute responsibilities in the Free State Region Office within the Directorate: Infrastructure Development and Maintenance.
- Emphasize management, implementation, supervision, and monitoring of the Regional Bulk Infrastructure Grant (RBIG), Water Services Infrastructure Grant (WSIG), Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG), Buckets Eradication Programme (BEP), and other civil engineering projects.
- Manage and monitor projects contractually, financially, and technically.
